Make you home a warm and cosy Winter Haven
You don't need to totally redecorate your home to transition it into a warm, cosy and intimate space for the colder months ahead.
However you do need to make some strategic adjustments to your design to move from the indoor/outdoor lifestyle that the summer months allow for.
- Cosy up a tiled or timber floor with a thick rug that can be rolled away and stored for summer. Reds, terracotta, browns and neutrals are best to add warmth.
- Add an instant electronic fireplace. Heavenly Interiors have many models available with no installation necessary. A fireplace adds warmth, atmosphere and a central focus. The range on show can be set on the LED display both with and without heat and are under $2000.
- Add a fur or wool throw and cushions to sofas and armchairs. Both warm and practical for that cold night reading a book or watching a movie.
- Wall art, whether original or reprint will help with warmth by covering part of those cold gyprock walls. An opportunity to express your personal likes and taste.
- Use warm coloured tablecloths with bright coloured placemats and serviettes to brighten up your winter dinner party.
- Candles add to ambiance and warmth. Choose sented candles and if unsure, vanilla is a good scent that adds a feeling of comfort to any space.
- Use soft table lighting rather than the rooms main ceiling lights to soften and add to the winter mood. "Warm White" lightglobes add a softer ambiance that the colder "Cool white".
Enjoy those long winter nights with Family, Friends and some great food!
